Sports Reserves top 2B by a country mile….
Sunday 3rd January should have been the 1st day back for all teams but freezing temperatures whipped out a large chunk of the Sunday league programme with pitches hard as concrete all over Cambridgeshire…. Im pleased to report that the one Sports side to play comforably won their match.
1st team – Were due to take on Sawston Wanderers in an important league match but conditions meant neither the Granchester Road or Capital Park grounds were playable, gaffer Chege was said to be gutted as for the 1st time this season all players were said to be available with a full 18-man squad selected, the 1st team should return to action next week with a quarter-final tie away to NCI.
Reserves – Stan Jones men had a good 4-0 win away to Banyers to send them 8 points clear at the top of 2B, a double from Roger Phillips plus strikes from Charlie Arthur and Benji Thompson made it a comfortable victory in difficult conditions. Next up for the reserves they face a potential title decider at home to old rivals Edward Jolly Boys which should be a cracking fixture at Capital Park.
A team – The A team return to action next Sunday after a long break with a home league fixture against Wellcome CRUKI (11am kick-off), Sports A are currently joint 2nd in the CDFL table and if other results go their win Henderson’s men could top the table.
UP THE SPORTS!!! x

Banyers were their own worst enemy, my point about the pitch was proved. I’m glad scrutton won the toss and changed ends!
That said I had one catch all game, not a save to make. Why? Cos we were fecking awesome!!

Cant wait for our next game, hopefully our form wont change after the break. 6 points and 2 clean sheets in 2 games against top of our league and then 3rd in the league above shows were starting to turn our potential into results, just gota keep it going
