Cambridge United booked their place in the Blue Square Premier play-off final after a 2-1 victory over Burton Albion on Tuesday night.
The match was delicately poised after a 2-2 draw in the first-leg - but Cambridge made their home advantage tell with a victory which gave them a 4-3 aggregate win.
Cambridge started the match in wonderful fashion as Robert Wolleaston put them ahead after just 30 seconds.
Burton, though, were soon level as Daryl Clare headed home on 15 minutes - but The Brewers were denied as Wolleaston's cross-come shot deceived goalkeeper Kevin Poole and dropped over him into the net just after the hour mark.

Sports A in Cup Final Showdown with The Dobblers!!!
by chege_da_gaffa
This Sunday 27th April 2008 Fulbourn Sports A will take on The Dobblers in the Cambs Friendly League Division 2 Cup final to be played at Newmarket Town kick-off 2pm.
Sports A will be at full strength (see squad below) as they look to lift their 1st piece of silverware.... recent encounters against The Dobblers in the league haven't gone in our favour with 4-2 and 4-3 defeats, but Sunday will surely see this record overturned!!!
The Dobblers finished in 3rd place in the Division 2 table two places above the Sports, but they've shipped 58 goals in 19 games so expect Sports hot-shot James King to be on target.
Sports XI were on the road this week for a friendly against Sporting Hinton, as the title of our team suggests the idea was to give some players from each of the 3 sides a game. Sporting Hinton are a decent side who have put in an application for the Halls league so today’s game was always going to be a decent test for both sides. It was a bright sunny morning and a decent pitch, which promised to be almost perfect for football.
Chairman Rich Henderson was in between the sticks and I selected a back-3 in front of him comprising of Coops, Si Black and Dommy B, in the wingback roles were Deano and Mikey Oliver. The midfield trio was Kizza Whitehead, Rich Chege and Tom Smith, with A-team strike-force James King and John Chege paired in attack. The late arrival of Matty Collins meant he had to settle for a place on the bench alongside Jake Langford and Rob Arthur.
So here it was to the final game in the Sports Reserves 2007-08 season, it started where it had all began against 1st opponents of the season Manor Park Rangers, the game was a slight doubt with the threat of snow but thankfully this cleared and the game at the home of football Capital Park was free to go ahead. Before the game we were presented with the league trophy, team of the month award and a brand spanking new match ball.
I had the usual squad of 15 available and with myself set for a rare appearance it meant someone had to miss out, the starting line-up saw keeper of the year contender Rocket between the sticks and a back-4 in front of him which saw the usual dependable partnership of captain Wrighty and Roberts in the middle with Jermakow and Mason at full-back. I paired myself in centre-mid with Thompson, father and son Whitehead taking the flanks, the front pairing this week was Saunders and Lynch. On the bench Jacklin and Tapp joined the Bashford brothers.
Our final away game of the season saw us on the road to Barley for one of the longest trips this season, only club legend John Mason and family were caught out by the hour less kip the night before as the whole squad were gathered at Tesco soon after 9. As we arrived I noted this was the same venue where we had faced the now disbanded Royston Saints last season, where punch-drunk sports were turned over. The pitch was in good condition despite the recent heavy rain, and the sunny weather made conditions for football near perfect. As per usual the whole squad was available which was going to make selection difficult especially as I was desperate to get some minutes on the pitch myself, but I decided to go with the side I had mapped out in my head weeks ago
Clean sheet king Rocket who had brought his deck-chair and sun bed with him took his place in between the sticks, and in front of him saw the impressive centre-back partnership of captain Wrighty and Roberts, Jermakow and Dan Bashford in the full-back spots. I went for a midfield 5 in the end, and it was Thompson, Whitehead, Jacklin, Saunders and Matt Bashford who got the nod, Lynch employed as the lone striker. On the bench this week Kizza, Mason and Tapp joined myself to give us plenty of options and every position covered. With no appointed league referee again, the Barley back-up keeper Mr Bacon took the whistle and with Barley’s squad thin on the ground we had to provide both linesmen with Lewis “next Sports star” Whitehead and John Mason kindly taking the flags.
Roller coaster match ends, but it was hardly battered cod and chips!

A home game greeted Sports for their last match of the season, and what a season it has been in many ways but more of that later…
Mike Oliver manager and owner of some of the most colourful shorts and socks in the world had pretty much his usual reliable starting 11 to choose from, but with both the otherSports sides having there own matches there was only room for two players to warm the bench.
3-5-2 was the formation, and how this has served this team well over the last couple of seasons, the team was thus
